The 32nd Korea World Travel Fair (KOTFA) 2017, organized from 01 to 04 June 2017 at the COEX Exhibition Centre, Seoul, Korea, concluded successfully with the participation of more than 60 countries. Running in its 32nd years of operation, KOTFA has remained as one of the biggest platforms for the buyers, sellers and consumers to meet, interact and exchange their ideas, business, and travel plans. Nepal made its enthusiastic presence in Nepal Stand: C 231 in Hall A in the event. Like last year, Nepal's participation was a product of joint co-ordination between the Embassy of Nepal in Seoul and Nepal Tourism Board (NTB).

Nepal Stall received lots of queries from the keen visitors throughout the fair. The queries were mainly related to Trekking to EBC, ABC and Langtang Region. Similarly, the other queries were related to the birthplace of Lord Buddha, air connectivity between Nepal and Korea, availability of Korean cuisine in Nepal and sightseeing. Many visitors at Nepal stall also expressed their concern over the airfare and the availability of seat capacity. So further increase the seating capacity with the revised airfare may help to increase the number of Korean tourists to Nepal. Nepal’s participation in KOTFA 2017 has been successful to give positive vibes among potential Korean travelers.

During the event, attractive tour packages were also offered to the inquisitive visitors by Sora Treks and Adventures, the only participant from the private sector travel fraternity of Nepal in the fair. According to the company, many visitors expressed their willingness to visit the Langtang Region which has been publicized as the place visited by the newly elected president of the Republic of Korea. This clearly indicates the possibility of the growth of arrivals to Nepal from Korea significantly in the days ahead.

Different promotional collaterals and typical Nepali souvenir items were offered to the visitors of Nepal stall. The promotional collaterals and souvenirs included the Travelers Information of Nepal, Nepal Maps, Booklets, DVDs, Posters of Mt. Everest, Lumbini and Paradise Pokhara, Typical Nepali Paper Diaries, Wooden Windows, Buddha Statues and Dolls Key Ring. The poster of Mt. Everest was the prime attraction and the high demand of the Nepal stand visitors.

His Excellency the Ambassador of Nepal to the Republic of Korea Mr. Arjun Jung Bahadur Singh graced his visit to the Nepal stand and commended the joint efforts of Nepal Embassy and Nepal Tourism Board. Similarly, Mr. Kiran Shakya, Deputy Chief of Mission, Embassy of Nepal in Seoul represented Nepal in the Opening Ceremony of the event. Mr. K.P. Sitoula, Honorary Public Relation Representative (HPRR) of NTB for the Republic of Korea was also fully involved in the fair to make Nepal's participation successful. Mr. Samir Bajracharya, Manager and Mr. Khem Raj Timalsena, Sr. Officer represented NTB in the event.
