According to GoSouthAsia, the total duration of the trip is 16 days, which includes sightseeing of various UNESCO heritage sites in Kathmandu, flight to Lukla, and some high altitude acclimatization time before reaching to the Everest Base Camp which is located at 17,600 ft.  The core hike, from Lukla to Mt. Everest Base Camp is 39 miles / 63 kilometers long and takes a span of 10 days. Due to the intensity and high altitude, the team will only trek about 3-4 miles and between 4 to 6 hours each day.

According to GoSouthAsia, the trip begins with taking a 45-minute flight from Kathmandu to Lukla.   Located at about 9,300 feet, Lukla airport is considered one of the most dangerous airstrips in the world.  The team will trek for several days through various Himalayan terrains, suspension bridges, small Sherpa towns including Phading, Namche Bazar, Tengboche, Pheriche, Lobuche, and Gorakshep. The team will enjoy the most spectacular view of Mt. Everest from Kala Patthar and finally reach to Everest Base Camp on the 10th day of arrival in Nepal. It takes about 5 days to hike back to Lukla, and finally, on day 15, they will be back in Kathmandu. On day 16, the team members can either fly back to their home countries or spend some more time exploring Kathmandu Valle and other parts of Nepal.

According to Tara, GoSouthAsia price for the 16-days trip is US$ 2,299 per person. The price includes food, accommodation, domestic flights in Nepal, tour guide, porter, national park fee, etc.  International Airfare and Travel insurance cost are not included in the price.
